3D Elf Girl Countdown to Christmas Sliding Ornament - Scored Santa lever to make it turn and count down
Description:
This purchase includes a file for making this cute 3D sliding Countdown Ornament in 3 layers + a 3D layered Elf Girl on top and a scored Santa lever to make it slide.
These files include both the pictured layered elf, which I made a tutorial for, but also a scored single layer elf if you wish to paint it with markers.
The files includes a 25 numbers and 24 numbers version as well as font descriptions in case you want to personalize it.
The file is made easy for scoring/engraving and cutting and the pictured pieces are made from 4 mm (1/8”) plywood and are set to measure approximately 10 cm/4”
Assembling couldn't be easier and doesn't require any hardware. The files are included with a PDF document, that links to a YouTube tutorial on how I painted the Elf Boy and how it's assembled. This Elf Girl was made by a tester (Nicky Hsu from Smile In An Envelope) but the painting process and assembling is pretty much the same as the boy.
Make sure to sand the slider part on both sides, so you remove a little material and make it nice and smooth, which will make the sliding go easier. Optional you can add a piece of paper/cardboard on the center round, to make it a tiny bit wider.
Apply glue to the middle center piece of the slider and glue it to the back and front of the ornament. Optionally use a staple gun and staple it to the back, this will help lifting the front a bit.
Finally glue the Elf on top.
You can use whatever thickness of material as well as resize it as long as you resize everything.
